Harry Franks is a composer and pianist crafting evocative soundscapes for film and television. With a signature style that seamlessly blends traditional orchestral depth with contemporary electroacoustic textures, his compositions elevate storytelling, making every project unforgettable.

Harry’s journey into film scoring began at just 17, when he composed the music for Take Note, a short film that sparked his passion for cinematic sound. Since then, he has collaborated with rising filmmakers on student films and independent shorts, continually refining his craft. In 2025, his first commercial release, So Long, debuted on streaming platforms, marking a significant milestone in his career. Currently, he is working on an album of original compositions.

Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, Harry’s deep-rooted love for music stems from his classical training as a pianist, composer, and brass musician. His early experiences performing in local brass bands and ensembles shaped his dynamic musical voice. He studied under J. Godfrey Turner before earning his degree in music from Durham University and further honing his expertise in screen scoring at the Film Scoring Academy of Europe.

Now dividing his time between the UK and Perth, Western Australia, Harry is dedicated to bringing compelling, emotionally resonant music to the screen. Whether crafting a sweeping orchestral score or an intimate, modern soundscape, he is always seeking new creative challenges that push the boundaries of storytelling through music.
